Coming off a big win over Villanova, there was no letdown from the Maize and Blue while travelling to Uncasville, Conn. for a showdown with George Washington on Saturday. Opening a double-digit advantage in the first seven minutes of play, the Wolverines cruised ahead for a comfortable 84-61 victory.

Coming off a season that set the program record for victories, the Michigan basketball team doesn’t have quite the same “Revenge Tour” slate as in football, but a big one they wanted was the early showdown at No. 8 Villanova. The highly billed rematch of the NCAA Tournament title game was anything but a close battle. The Wolverines jumped out in front early and never looked back, winning 73-46.

Michigan had one last warmup game Saturday evening before moving on to the National Championship game rematch with Villanova, and as it turns out, it was much needed. The Wolverines played host to Holy Cross, but struggled initially, trailing by as nine points, and sitting six points behind at half. Riding a tough defensive effort though, U-M was able to storm ahead after the break, locking up a 56-37 win.

The Michigan basketball season is just a few days away from getting started, and on Friday evening, the Wolverines had the chance to work out some kinks, playing host to Northwood in an exhibition matchup that saw the Maize and Blue claim a 90-58 victory.

Coming off a trip to the Finals of the NCAA Tournament, there are a lot of changes on this year’s Michigan team. The Wolverines are still in the early stages of preparing for the challenge ahead, and on Monday afternoon, head coach John Beilein discussed where the team is at in its progress.
