While Michigan won 11 games last season, most fans of the Maize and Blue look back on the team and recognize that it was still a work in progress. In many respects, that team was probably not as good as previous squads that won as many or even fewer games. Among the observers in attendance at the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp in Southfield last week, incoming Michigan freshman linebacker James Ross wanted to give back. The 6-1, 230 pounder remembers well his time as a high school recruit and felt he had something to contribute by being there.

Last week, the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp in Southfield played host to hundreds of high school prospects as well as college coaches from around the Midwest. Several Michigan commitments were in attendance, but they weren’t the only future Wolverines on hand, with incoming freshman cornerback Terry Richardson watching the event as well.

Former Michigan All-American and Heisman Trophy runner up Bob Chappuis passed away yesterday at the age of 89. Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, he was the Wolverines MVP of the 1948 Rose Bowl victory over Southern Cal. To see the comlete story from MGoBlue.com, click here.
