Michigan basketball starts off its exhibition season on Nov. 1 against Northern Michigan with the opening game the following week against Slippery Rock. On Wednesday, head coach John Beilein met with the press at the annual media day, discussing a variety of matters about the team. See video of Beilein at that presser.

With the start of exhibition play in basketball just over a month away, the University of Michigan announced on Wednesday the updated schedule for the team, with times and television coverage included. While there are a few games still to be determined, the Wolverines will be regulars on national television this fall and winter.

Progress continues on the facilities construction projects to both Crisler Center and Yost Arena. Exterior work to Yost is complete, while the south side of Crisler is nearly finished and landscaping work was in progress today. The efforts to finish interior of both projects, as well as the main entrance to Crisler, remain ongoing. Both are expected to be done by November.

The NCAA announced today that Michigan earned the No. 1 overall seed and will serve as one of four regional hosts of the 2012 NIT Season Tip-Off on November 12 and 13. According to the release, No. 1 seed U-M plays IUPUI on Monday, Nov. 12 at 9 p.m., broadcast on ESPNU. No. 7 seed Cleveland State and Bowling Green precede the Maize and Blue's game at 6 p.m.
