Initial AP Poll has Wolverines at No. 7
Written by Matt Pargoff

With the college football season drawing near, the Associated Press released its first top-25 in a list that closely mirrors the Coaches Poll, including a top-10 that is a perfect match. Like with the previous list, the Wolverines will start out the season at No. 7.

From the Big Ten, Ohio State ranks in at No. 5, Penn State at No. 15, Michigan State at No. 18, Wisconsin at No. 19, Iowa at No. 20 and Nebraska at No. 24. Ranked in the bottom spot of the Coaches Poll, Northwestern came in outside the top-25 on the AP list, holding the No. 30 spot, while Minnesota ranked in at No. 39.

Michigan is set to play the first five from that group, as well as No. 9 Notre Dame.
