Branham announces decommitment from Michigan

The Spring Game is often and important recruiting moment for Michigan each year, given the dozens of prospects that show up to see the program up close. That was the case on Saturday, and while that exposure may yield positive results going forward, the news of the day on the recruiting front was negative, with the loss of Kalil Branham from the commitment list.

The four-star wide receiver out of Columbus (Ohio) Northland joined the Wolverines’ 2020 class when he verbally pledged his intentions last June, but announced on Twitter Saturday evening that he was reopening his recruitment.

With the loss of Branham, Michigan currently stands at six commitments for the 2020 recruiting class. The wide receiver position is not an overwhelming need for the Maize and Blue given the signing of five players at the spot in 2019, which included Giles Jackson, Cornelius Johnson, George Johnson, Quintel Kent and Mike Sainristil.
