The Wolverines dominated early against the Grizzlies, taking a commanding 17-point advantage while still in the first half. While Montana was able to chip that down to just and eight-point deficit early in the second half, Michigan used a quick 8-0 run, with three pointers from Jordan Poole and Charles Matthews, to reclaim the strong advantage.

Montana never again made a serious challenge, as the Wolverines pulled ahead by as many as 26 points.

Matthews led the way for Michigan, registering a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Ignas Brazdeikis scored 14 points, while Jon Teske had 11 and Jordan Poole 10, Zavier Simpson also reaching double figures with 10 assists.

Improving to 29-6, Michigan advances to the Round of 32 in the tournament, where it will face Florida on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. eastern. The 10-seeded Gators enter the game having upset Nevada 70-61 to improve to 20-15.
