Florida linebacker flips from Miami to Michigan

The Wolverines picked up another big addition to the 2019 recruiting class on Sunday, with Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas linebacker Anthony Solomon announcing he would sign with Michigan instead of Miami, where he had previously been committed.

Solomon committed to the Hurricanes in April, but made back-to-back trips to Miami and Michigan in early December, ultimately deciding in favor of the Wolverines.

Standing in at 6-0, 190 pounds, Solomon fits well in Michigan’s scheme at the hybrid VIPER linebacker spot, which often sacrifices size for greater speed and quickness. He is rated as a four-star prospect on Rivals, 247 Sports and ESPN.

In addition to Michigan and Miami, he also carried scholarship offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Auburn, Ohio State and many others.

He is Michigan’s 25th verbal pledge to the 2019 recruiting class and plans to sign on Wednesday.
