Coming off a big win over Villanova, there was no letdown from the Maize and Blue while travelling to Uncasville, Conn. for a showdown with George Washington on Saturday. Opening a double-digit advantage in the first seven minutes of play, the Wolverines cruised ahead for a comfortable 84-61 victory.

While Michigan never trailed, the opening of the second half set the tone for the victory, with U-M rattling off a 13-2 run after the break.

Jordan Poole scored a career high 22 points, while Charles Matthews led the Wolverines offensive attack with a 25-point showing. Zavier Simson registered a double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling down 11 rebounds, also contributing eight assists.

Improving to 4-0, the game was the first of two in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament, with a meeting against Providence set for Sunday at 1:30 p.m. eastern on ESPN.
