Wolverines climb three spots in the polls

The Wolverines dropped a spot in each poll a week ago after a close call with Northwestern, but made up ground after defeating Maryland 42-21 on Saturday, climbing three places in both the Associated Press and the USA Today / Amway Coaches Poll.

Michigan is at the No. 12 in the AP Poll and at No. 13 in the Coaches Poll.

There’s significant disagreement between the two ranking sources over the Wolverines’ next opponent, with Wisconsin coming in No. 16 in the AP Poll, while sitting much higher at No. 10 according to the coaches.

Among other future opponents for the Maize and Blue, Ohio State is still ranked No. 3 and Penn State is No. 8 in both polls. Michigan State fell from the top-25 after losing to Northwestern, but still has a single 25th place vote in the Coaches Poll for one point.
