Wolverines grab pledge from California running back
Written by Matt Pargoff

Michigan’s sudden hot streak in recruiting continues to gain steam. At a time when it’s not uncommon for things to fall a little quiet on the recruiting front with so much focus on the season, the Wolverines have now picked up three commitments in two days. The latest to drop is Oakley (Calif.) Freedom running back Giles Jackson, who announced his pledge Monday afternoon.

Standing in at 5-10, 175 pounds, Jackson is listed as a four-star prospect and the No. 5 all-purpose back in the nation by 247 Sports, garnering three-star status as the No. 7 all-purpose back on Rivals. In addition to Michigan, he was offered scholarships by Florida, Oregon, Southern Cal, Hawaii, Colorado and others.

As a junior in high school last season, Jackson rushed for 1,558 yards, while gaining 311 yards receiving and 378 yards on special teams returns, accounting for 28 touchdowns.

He is Michigan’s 22nd commitment for the 2019 recruiting class.
