Michigan placed a lot of eggs in the Ty Isaac basket, a fact which has made many fans of the Maize and Blue uneasy following his announcement to Southern Cal. But as everyone takes a deep breath and settles in, it is important to keep things in perspective when it comes to the recruiting process.

Hoops adds another 2012 commit

Michigan's already impressive 2012 basketball recruiting class has added a fifth member, with Pickerington (Ohio) Central shooting guard Caris LeVert announcing his pledge to the Maize and Blue. The 6-4, 175 pounder announced the news on his Twitter feed, stating "Just officially committed to the University of Michigan!"

While 11 of Michigan's 17 verbal commitments for the class of 2013 are on the offensive side of the ball, there are still areas of need that will continue to be addressed before signing day. 2013 Defensive recruiting hot list


 While Michigan’s defensive recruiting has been overshadowed by great success pulling in offensive prospects, the Wolverines have managed to secure six commitments from highly regarded prospects, including linebacker Mike McCray. Nevertheless, fans can be certain that defense will be a priority for the remainder of the class, with linemen ranking as the highest priority.
