Coach: "No one works harder than Ross"

Michigan picked up a commitment on Tuesday when Avon, Ohio cornerback Ross Douglas announced his pledge to the Wolverines after five months of being committed to Penn State. The 5-10, 180 pounder decommitted from the Nittany Lions yesterday after learning of the sanctions the school would face. According to Avon head coach Mike Elder, the change in plans was not a surprise in light of the circumstances.

Douglas announces commitment to Michigan

Michigan has picked up a commitment from Avon, Ohio cornerback Ross Douglas, who was formerly committed to Penn State. He becomes the 23rd member of the Maize and Blue’s 2013 recruiting class. With NCAA sanctions imposed on the Nittany Lions yesterday, Douglas promptly decommitted from the school and began looking around.

Toussaint, Clark suspended from team

Junior running back Fitzgerald Toussaint has been suspended indefinitely from the Michigan football team following an arrest Saturday evening in Saline on a DUI charge. Michigan’s leading returning running back, Toussaint rushed for 1,041 yards and nine touchdowns last season.

Michigan announces special uniforms for season opener

The University of Michigan football program unveiled special uniforms on Monday that will be worn for the Wolverines’ season opening contest against Alabama. The Cowboys Classic game in Arlington, Texas will be the Maize and Blue’s first neutral site regular season game since 1950, when the Wolverines fell to Army 27-6 in Bronx, N.Y.

Will Michigan benefit from Penn State transfers?

The NCAA announced sanctions against the Penn State football program on Monday morning, including a $60 million fine, four-year bowl ban and massive scholarship reductions among the punitive measures. With the NCAA also releasing Penn State players from transfer restrictions, there is great interest among college football fans hoping their respective teams can benefit from picking clean the bones of the Penn State carcass.
