Bouncing back from a loss to Michigan State, the Wolverines made short work of Nebraska on Thursday evening, building up a double-digit advantage in the first seven minutes of play and cruising to an 82-53 victory.

Wolverines stumble in second half, fall to MSU

Battling for control of first place in the conference on Sunday, the matchup between in-state rivals Michigan and Michigan State lived up the hype, but provided some surprises in how things played out. In particular, the Wolverines’ normally stout defense struggled to control MSU, despite key injuries on the Spartans’ side. It was Michigan’s offensive decline in the second half though that ultimately marked the turning point in the 77-70 loss.

Chris Evans sidelined by academic issues

Michigan rides early burst to push past Rutgers

The Wolverines have struggled at times this season with slow starts, but that wasn’t a problem at Rutgers on Tuesday evening. Michigan jumped ahead early, seizing a 17-point advantage in less than nine minutes of play. Holding off the Scarlet Knights’ comeback efforts in the second half, the Maize and Blue walked off with a 77-65 victory.

Ben McDaniels named as quarterbacks coach

The Wolverines’ off-season restructuring of the coaching staff took a major step on Tuesday. Michigan announced the elevation of former offensive analyst Ben McDaniels to the position of quarterback coach.
