Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon pledged to the Wolverines in June, but a series of snafus on the part of the Michigan staff set back his recruitment, with the top rated 2017 prospect announcing on Monday that he was decommitting from his verbal commitment.

Wolverines lose 2018 commit Leonard Taylor

Michigan picked up a commitment from Leonard Taylor of Springfield, Ohio in early April, shortly after the 2018 tight end / defensive end visited for the Wolverines’ Spring Game. That pledge didn’t last long though with the 6-5, 240 pounder announcing on Twitter Monday afternoon that he would reopen his recruitment.

The Wolverines’ 2016 recruiting class was a rare instance in program history where Michigan went without a signee from Ohio. On Monday afternoon, the Maize and Blue grabbed their second from the state down south, picking up a commitment from Toledo Central Catholic defensive end James Hudson.

Emerging as a strong prospect through the spring and summer months while playing AAU basketball, 2017 point guard Eli Brooks of Spring Grove, Pa. quickly generated interest from college programs, drawing several scholarship offers. It didn’t take long though for his recruitment to reach a conclusion, announcing on Tuesday evening that he would play for the Maize and Blue.
