Michigan’s 2015 recruiting class is nearly complete when it comes to scholarship players, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be other additions. On Saturday evening, news broke that Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice defensive end Jack Dunaway had reach the decision to accept a preferred walk-on opportunity with the Wolverines.

Following a strong showing at the Michigan camp this summer, 2016 offensive tackle Michael Jordan of Canton (Mich.) Plymouth earned a scholarship offer from the Wolverines. On Friday evening, the 6-6, 275 pound junior had his home opener against Pinckney postponed by bad weather, but proved to be an immense physical mismatch through the first quarter and a half. Updates/video: Cass Tech underclassmen skill players

Detroit Cass Tech got its season off to a good start on Friday evening, claiming a 27-26 victory over Oak Park. The effort to win the game took a late comeback, with a number of players making contributions, including the talented group of underclassmen that are already getting attention as future college athletes. Following the contest, three of them discussed the victory and their recruitments.

Photos: Prospects at the Prep Kickoff Classic

The college season wasn’t the only one that got started this weekend, with high school players in the state of Michigan taking to the field for a big showdown at the Prep Kickoff Classic at Wayne State University in Detroit. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s defeated Southfield, while Detroit Cass Tech edged out Oak Park, with both games featuring a number of future college stars.
