Little resistance was expected of Maryland Eastern Shore for the Wolverines on Saturday and little was received. Michigan extended a double-digit lead in less than four minutes of play and never looked back, riding a 21-point effort by Derrick Walton Jr. on the way to a lopsided 98-49 victory.

Coming into the game at 1-8, Central Arkansas was given little chance to beat Michigan, but few would have expected the offensive onslaught that the Maize and Blue delivered. Facing a matchup zone defense, the Wolverines didn’t hold back in shooting 3-pointers, setting new school records both for attempts and made shots from beyond the arc in a 97-53 blowout victory.

Wolverines surge past Kennesaw State

Struggling out of the gate to defend Kennesaw State’s Kendrick Ray, the Wolverines surrendered 15 points to the senior guard in less than 15 minutes of play. The tight battle that came as a result quickly turned down the stretch, with Michigan putting on a 17-2 run heading into the half. That run and the more consistent defensive effort in the second half ultimately leading to an 82-55 victory.
