All safe following plane accident for basketball team

Heading to Washington D.C. out of Willow Run Airport for a noon matchup Thursday with Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament, the Michigan basketball team’s charter suffered an accident during an aborted takeoff. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

Walton earns second-team All-Big Ten, two more honored

While Derrick Walton Jr. had some ups and downs in his final run in the Maize and Blue, there is little question that he turned a corner during Big Ten play, helping the Wolverines to a strong final run that is expected to land them in the NCAA Tournament. The veteran guard was recognized for his play on Monday, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors from both the media and coaches.

U-M blows past Nebraska, will face Illinois in BTT

Hitting four of their first five three-point attempts, the Wolverines rode a hot shooting effort throughout the game at Nebraska on Sunday evening, opening a double-digit advantage in under five minutes of play. Handing the Cornhuskers their worst loss of the season, Michigan closed out the regular season with a 93-57 victory.
