St-Juste announces decision to stick with Michigan

Michigan’s fate has become intertwined with that of Virginia Tech on a number of fronts this week, playing host to the Hokies' basketball team in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, while rooting for the team from Blacksburg on the football field against Clemson to improve the Wolverines’ chances of making the playoff. That connection extended to the recruiting front as well, with U-M commit Benjamin St-Juste making a final decision Wednesday evening between the two.

Magnuson, Butt named first-team All-Big Ten

The Big Ten’s two-day reveal of its all-conference team concluded on Wednesday evening with the announcement of offensive honorees. The Wolverines were once again well-represented, headed up by Jake Butt and Erik Magnuson, who each earned first team recognition from the coaches and media.

Video: QBs talk competition heading into game week

One of the big questions throughout the offseason, which still lingers now with fall camp wrapping up, was who would start under center for the Wolverines in the opening game. That question may not be answered for fans until the first snap against Hawaii, but on Friday afternoon, the three main competitors, Wilton Speight, John O’Korn and Shane Morris, shared their take on the matter.

Wolverines stumble down the stretch, fall to Va. Tech

Michigan led by as many as 15 points against Virginia Tech on Wednesday evening, quickly surging ahead for a big lead out of the gate. The Hokies battled back in the second half, cutting the gap to just one, only to see the Maize and Blue again extend their advantage to double digits. That lead still wasn’t safe though as the visiting ACC team battled back to defeat Michigan 73-70.

Jaylen Kelly-Powell commits to Michigan

It’s been a rough few days for the Wolverines, dropping their first game of the season at Iowa while also dealing with an injury to their starting quarterback. That string of bad news was snapped though early Tuesday morning when Detroit Cass Tech safety Jaylen Kelly-Powell announced his plan to commit to Michigan.
