Wolverines make big leap ahead in the polls
Written by Matt Pargoff

The Wolverines have completed their first task in a tough three-game stretch, knocking off Wisconsin 38-13 on Saturday evening. The win made a big impression, with Michigan jumping ahead significantly in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Amway Coaches Polls.

Michigan moved up six spots in both polls, coming in at No. 6 in the AP Poll and No. 7 in the Coaches Poll.

The Wolverines’ only loss on the season came at the hands of a still undefeated Notre Dame squad that ranks in at No. 4.

Still to come on the schedule, Michigan will play next at Michigan State, which moved up to No. 24 in the AP Poll after beating Penn State. The Wolverines get a bye week after that, then hosting that same Penn State squad, which currently sits at No. 16 in the Coaches Poll and No. 18 in the AP.
