Wolverines snag commit from 2019 offensive lineman

The Wolverines hit Georgia hard in 2018, signing three from the Peach State, and they’re already off to a fast state there again for 2019. On Wednesday evening, Michigan grabbed a pledge from Loganville (Ga.) Grayson offensive lineman Trente Jones, who announced his pledge on Twitter.

Standing in at 6-5, 290 pounds, Jones is rated as a four-star prospect by 247 Sports and ESPN, coming in as a three-star on Rivals.

Jones made his decision just days after returning from an unofficial visit in Ann Arbor, where he got a chance to see the Michigan basketball team knock off Ohio State. In addition to the Wolverines, he also carried scholarship offers from Florida, Auburn, Texas A &M, Louisville and others.

Jones is Michigan’s fifth commitment for the 2019 class, and second from the state of Georgia with Norcross Greater Atlanta Christian School defensive end Chris Hinton already pledged. The rest of the group includes Louisville (Ky.) Trinity defensive end Stephen Herron Jr., Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban offensive lineman Nolan Rumler, and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Charles Thomas.
