The Wolverines continued to add to their 2018 recruiting effort on Friday evening, picking up a commitment from Bradenton (Fla.) Braden River defensive end Taylor Upshaw, who had previously been pledged to Florida.

Standing in at 6-5, 240 pounds, Upshaw is rated as a three-star prospect on Rivals, 247 Sports and ESPN, carrying a strong list of scholarship offers that also included Clemson, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Wisconsin and others.

Upshaw only recently entered the picture for Michigan, following the firing of Jim McElwain at Florida. He made an official visit this weekend, announcing his decision to change his plans early on the trip.

With Upshaw’s announcement, the Wolverines currently sit at 16 verbal commitments for the class, including two projected defensive ends.
