Hassan Haskins commits to Michigan

Michigan lost a pledge on Sunday afternoon from offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor, then quickly filled that spot just a few hours later, picking up a commitment from Eureka, Mo. running back Hassan Haskins.

"I'm very blessed and honored to announce that I have committed to University of Michigan #goblue," he announced on Twitter.

Standing in at 6-foot-1, 200-pound, Haskins is rated as a three-star prospect on 247 Sports, while remaining unrated on Rivals and ESPN.

He also carries scholarship offers from Purdue, Eastern Michigan, Memphis, Western Kentucky and Ohio. The Wolverines joined that group in early October after seeing his play as a senior, and played host to him this weekend for an official visit. Through 11 games of his senior year, he has rushed for 1,901 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns.

Haskins is Michigan’s 15th verbal commitment for the 2018 recruiting class, and the second player slated to play running back, joining Buford, Ga. back Christian Turner.
