Harbaugh reveals three honorary captains

With the start of Michigan’s football season just four weeks away, head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed three who will serve as honorary team captains, posting videos of his talks with the trio on YouTube.

The Wolverines will conclude the regular season against Ohio State, as usual, and one former player that never lost to the rival Buckeyes will be roaming the Michigan sidelines for the game. Charles Woodson agreed to serve as the honorary team captain for the game, also speaking to the squad beforehand and spending time with the team the night before.

In a call with Harbaugh, the 1997 Heisman Trophy winner offered no hesitation in accepting the offer, saying “you had me at hello” when presented with the idea.

ESPN analyst Adam Schefter, a Michigan grad, will also serve as an honorary captain, heading to Ann Arbor for the home opener against Cincinnati.

Harbaugh also got a commitment from Fossil Group/Shinola founder Tom Kartsotis to step in for the Wolverines’ season opener against Florida. The two also discussed Harbaugh’s run in with actor Jason Sudeikis and the possibility that the head coach would make a cameo on Comedy Central show Detroiters.
