Wolverines snag elite 2019 defensive end

The Wolverines have been on fire on the recruiting front over the last two weeks, not only for the 2018 class, but also looking ahead to the future beyond that. On Saturday evening, they grabbed a big one for 2019, picking up a pledge from Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian defensive end Chris Hinton, who is widely regarded as a five-star prospect.

Standing in at 6-4, 265 pounds, Hinton is ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect on Rivals, No. 3 on Scout and No. 14 on 247 Sports. He selected the Maize and Blue over scholarship offers from Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Stanford and many others.

Hinton is the third player in the last week to announce his plans to attend Michigan in 2019 and the fourth overall to pledge to the class, joining defensive end Stephen Herron Jr., offensive linemen offensive lineman Nolan Rumler and linebacker Charles Thomas.
