Michigan has its first pledge of the 2019 recruiting class for basketball, picking up a commitment on Thursday from 6-foot-8, 200-pound power forward Taylor Currie.

Originally from Columbus (Ohio) Worthington Christian, Currie transferred mid-year to Clarkston, Mich., where he helped lead his new team to a Class A State Championship, scoring 16 points and pulling down 10 rebounds in the title game win over Grand Rapids Christian.

Currie is rated as a four-star prospect on Scout and a three-star player on Rivals. His father joined in on Twitter in commenting on Taylor's pledge to the Maize and Blue.
