Michigan grabs commitment from in-state lineman

The Wolverines grabbed their second in-state offensive linemen in under a week’s time on Sunday, picking up a commitment from 2018 Traverse City West tackle Ryan Hayes.

Still requiring time to bulk up, Hayes measures in at 6-7, 250 pounds, but his potential helped him to earn scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Northwestern, Cal, Michigan State, TCU and others, as well as a four-start ranking from ESPN, Scout and 247 Sports.

Hayes joins Grand Rapids Catholic Central’s Jalen Mayfield, who committed four days earlier, and Emil Ekiyor Jr. as members of the Wolverines’ future offensive line.

Michigan is up to 10 verbal commitments for the 2018 recruiting class.
