Jordan Anthony commits to Michigan

Michigan landed its second commitment from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy in a week’s time on Thursday evening, adding highly rated outside linebacker Jordan Anthony to the 2017 recruiting class.

Writing out his own commitment article on Campus Insider, Anthony explained how the experience of receiving the Michigan offer was treated special from the start, crediting his visits though a major factor in the choice he made.

“I am excited to take my next step as a player and student at the University of Michigan,” Anthony wrote. “The first time I visited campus, I was amazed. I got chills walking onto the field at The Big House.

“The people I met there, from the coaching staff to the support staff to the assistant staff, we had a great time. We had fun. It just felt right. It just felt like a place I wanted to be. It felt like family.

“The way Coach Harbaugh motivates guys to play and fight for him is inspiring. And with the way our class is coming together, we can definitely be a force. I can’t wait to get in there and play for Coach Brown; we have such a good relationship.”

Standing in at 6-1, 220 pounds, Anthony is rated as a five-star prospect, the No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 26 overall prospect in the nation by Rivals. That is his highest ranking, but he is still well-regarded in other circles, coming in as the No. 123 overall player by ESPN, No. 185 on Scout, and No. 208 on 247 Sports.

Anthony is Michigan’s 25th commitment for the 2017 recruiting class.
