Written by Matt Pargoff

With the start of the season just two weeks away, the Associated Press has released its preseason poll, with the Wolverines coming in at the No. 8 position. Michigan’s first opponent, Alabama comes in at the No. 2 spot, with three other conference foes on the schedule also making an appearance in the preseason list.

The AP Poll lists Michigan State at No. 13, Nebraska at No. 17 and Ohio State at No. 18. In addition, Michigan will play Notre Dame, which comes in just one vote shy of cracking that top 25. Potential Big Ten Championship Game opponent Wisconsin will start the season ranked No. 12.

Of note, Michigan received one first place vote in the initial poll release. The complete ranking is listed below.
