The Michigan football program is hosting a large number of recruits today for the annual BBQ at the Big House event. While no media presence is allowed, several prospects are using Twitter to share their thoughts while the visit is still ongoing. New updates added regularly throughout the day.
The above photo of Wolverine commitments and recruits was posted by Michigan fullback commitment Wyatt Shallman.
Michigan offensive line commitment Kyle Bosch made the following tweet.
The headline player attending is without question running back Derrick Green of Richmond (Va.) Hermitage. Considered one of the nation’s elite prospects at the position, this is his second visit to Ann Arbor. He exchanged tweets this morning with Michigan offensive line commitment Logan Tuley-Tillman.
Green also posted a picture of himself from inside Schembechler Hall holding one of the Wolverines' Heisman Trophies: Link
Michigan tight end commitment Jake Butt of Pickerington (Ohio) North tweeted last week that he would not be attending the Gridiron Kings event in Orlando, Fla. with Michigan fellow commitment Shane Morris and top receiver prospect Laquon Treadwell. It appears instead that he is in Ann Arbor today, sharing a with defensive end commit Taco Charlton of Pickerington Central.
Junior offensive lineman Mason Cole of Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake already has a scholarship offer from the Wolverines and made the visit with his fellow 2014 teammate Artavis Scott. Cole has been proving regular updates from his experience at Michigan, with very positive reviews.
Scott has also been active on Twitter, sharing his thoughts as well.
Linebacker Michael Ferns of Saint Clairsville (Ohio) has Michigan in his top three with Notre Dame and Penn State, though given circumstances in Happy Valley, his recruitment may boil down to a two team race. He is among the players visiting Michigan today and has posted two photos from the tour, including a shot from inside the stadium and one from inside the Glick facility. Below are links to those photos – of note, there are now large “B1G” icons at both 25-yard lines.
Defensive end Conor Sheehy of Milwaukee (Wisc.) Marquette was among the 2014 standouts at the Michigan summer camp. He has not tweeted about his experience at Michigan today, but did confirm on Friday that he would be making a trip to Northwestern and then heading to Ann Arbor.
Finally, we're not certain if Michigan commitment Dymonte Thomas is being serious or just trying to start an internet fire, but he is certain to get people excited with his recent tweets.
Michigan defensive back commitment Channing Stribling of Matthews (N.C.) Butler added a pair of photos from his trip to Michigan.
2014 quarterback prospect Coleman Keys of Broken Arrow (Okla.) is also on campus. Keys camped at Michigan this summer and made the following tweet from Ann Arbor this morning.
Tuley-Tillman added his own photo tweet.
And new Michigan commitment Ross Douglas posted his photo with Brady Hoke.
