Michigan Fan Poll

After Jabrill Peppers, who is U-M’s most important 2014 signee?

Treadwell moving closer to decision

One of Michigan’s major focuses for the 2013 recruiting class has been the wide receiver position, with Crete (Ill.) Monee star LaQuon Treadwell at the top of the Wolverines’ list of options. The 6-3, 185 pounder has visited Michigan on several occasions and has consistently listed the Maize and Blue high on his list.

This morning, Treadwell set the internet ablaze with talk that he would reach a decision in the near future, starting with a series of tweets by the young wide out.

It is important to note that Treadwell has shifted his timeline on several occasions. In mid-May he announced that he would make a decision prior to the start of his senior year. However, just a week later, he had returned to his previous stance that he would take visits in the fall before making his choice.

The recent buzz appears to be his legitimate current line of thinking and obviously Michigan’s scholarship situation is likely a driving force in pushing him to make his decision earlier. Should he go through with making a choice in the near future, all signed point to him selecting the Maize and Blue.

As a junior, Treadwell made 75 receptions for 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns. He is rated as a four-star prospect by all major recruiting services.
