Alabama week depth chart released


With Michigan set to kick off the season in just five days against Alabama in the Cowboy Classic, the Wolverines have released their depth chart for the first time this season. While Brady Hoke remained non-committal in Monday’s press conference on the status of running back Fitzgerald Toussaint, the redshirt junior is listed in the top spot on the depth chart.

Video: Lewis highlights from opening game


On Saturday evening, Detroit Cass Tech took on Birmingham Brother Rice in the opening weekend of play for high school football. The game featured several college recruits, including Michigan cornerback commitment Jourdan Lewis. The 5-10, 170 pounder was avoided on the defensive side of the ball, and chipped in on offense and special teams as well.

Among the top prospects in the state of Michigan for 2014, Detroit Cass Tech star athlete Damon Webb had a spectacular start to his junior year, pulling in two touchdowns, forcing a fumble that went for a score and closing out the contest against Birmingham Brother Rice with an interception. See each of those plays, as well as the presentation of the game’s MVP award to the 5-11, 180 pounder.

Robinson and Kovacs named captains

Webb stars in Cass Tech victory

Billed as the biggest game of the opening weekend of high school football in Michigan, the Detroit Sports Commission Prep Kickoff Classic held at Wayne State University featured defending Division I state champion Detroit Cass Tech facing off against defending Division II champ Birmingham Brother Rice. The contest did not let down, with the Technicians grabbing a 25-18 victory.
