In 21 seasons at Michigan, Bo Schembechler became the school’s winningest coach with an overall record of 234-65-8.  He would lead the Wolverines to 13 Big Ten championships, 17 top ten finishes and 17 postseason bowl games.

Remembering a legend: Bennie Oosterbaan

In 1990 the tenth ranked Michigan Wolverines suffered a heartbreaking loss to Iowa, falling 24-23 to the Hawkeyes.  It would be the first homecoming loss for Michigan in twenty three years.  Three days later an even greater loss struck the Michigan football family with the passing of the Michigan legend Bennie Oosterbaan.

Calhoun sees challenge in stopping Michigan attack

Michigan’s defense got off to the rough start against Alabama, allowing the Crimson Tide to gain 232 yards on the ground. Looking ahead to Air Force this Saturday, much of the discussion has centered on how the Wolverines will respond to defending a drastically different triple option attack. However, on the other side, the Falcons are expressing just as much concern about dealing with the Wolverines offense.

The 411: Air Force Falcons

In 1981, Southern Mississippi’s Reggie Collier became the first NCAA quarterback to accumulate 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards passing in a single season.  In the thirty seasons since then, there has been only 30 additional college quarterbacks to match Collier’s achievement. No school has put more quarterbacks in the 1,000 yard rushing/passing club than the Air Force Falcons, leading the NCAA with five players on the list.

Roh sees discipline as key to stopping Air Force

The Wolverines’ 2012 schedule is widely regarded as one of the toughest in the nation, not just for the teams that they play, but for the order in which they are confronted. Coming off a game with Alabama’s physical running pro-style attack, the Wolverines will take on Air Force, which utilizes the triple option offense.
