The Wolverines are past the midway point of spring practice, and they aren’t just left with the question of who is winning the quarterback competition, but who will be available. Receiving a transfer from Ole Miss signal caller Shea Patterson during the offseason could pay immediate dividends if his appeal for immediate eligibility goes through the NCAA, but one step in that process has hit a snag.

Video: Ed Warinner shares thoughts on offensive line

Wolverines fall in Championship Game

Michigan’s 14-game win streak came to an end Monday evening, with the Maize and Blue slipping up in the National Championship Game of the NCAA Tournament, falling to Villanova 79-62. The Wolverines got off to a fast start, pulling ahead by seven points midway through the first half, but couldn’t maintain that pace going forward.

Second half surge sends Michigan to title game

The Wolverines are on their way to playing for the National Championship. Facing the Cinderella story of the NCAA Tournament, it appeared for a time that Loyola-Chicago’s unlikely run would continue, with U-M trailing by as many as 10 points in the second half. The tables slowly turned as Michigan chipped away at the deficit, with the Maize and Blue finally seizing the lead and momentum, winning 69-57.
