Michigan headed overseas to Rome for spring ball

Jim Harbaugh grabbed headlines and the attention rival coaches around the nation last year when he elected to take the Michigan team to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. for the first week of spring practice. While this year’s trip won’t stir up as much controversy with regards to recruiting questions, it will provide the Wolverines with an even more unique experience, taking a week in Rome, Italy.

Jeremy Clark denied sixth year of eligibility

After tearing his ACL in the fourth game of the season, Michigan cornerback Jeremy Clark hoped he would be able to continue his college career by applying for a medical exemption to receive a sixth year of eligibility. On Monday it was revealed that he was denied that request by the NCAA, leaving him to move forward in pursuit of a professional career.

Post-game video: Wolverines roll past Illinois

A week and a half earlier, Michigan lost by 16 points at Illinois. Playing host to the same opponent though on Saturday, the Wolverines led by as many as 19 points in the second half, cruising to a 66-57 victory.

Kai-Leon Herbert decommits from Michigan

The Wolverines have had a strong showing in recruiting offensive linemen for 2017, but lost a significant member of the group over the weekend when Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage tackle Kai-Leon Herbert announced he will no longer be a part of the class.

Shallman announces plan to transfer

Senior fullback/linebacker Wyatt Shallman will not return for a fifth year at Michigan. The Hartland, Mich. native, who played his high school ball at Detroit Catholic Central, announced on Twitter Thursday afternoon his plan to leave the Wolverines to play a fifth year as a graduate transfer elsewhere.
