Michigan unable to keep up after fast start at UNC

The Wolverines got off to a fast start at North Carolina on Wednesday evening, making their first eight shots and staying on pace to 98-point game through the first 13 minutes of play. Trailing by just two points that deep into the game, the Maize and Blue suddenly went cold, surrendering a 17-5 run in the remainder of the half, ultimately falling 86-71 in the game.

Poole steps up to lift Michigan past Indiana

Starting Big Ten play a month earlier than most seasons, Michigan needed its inexperienced players to be ready earlier than normal. That made Saturday afternoon’s performance against Indiana particularly encouraging for the Wolverines, with true freshmen playing a major part in a solid 69-55 victory.

Two more Wolverines departing, another on the fence

Since the end of the regular season on Saturday, the Wolverines have been hit with a string of departures, which started with Wilton Speight and Drake Harris announcing their plans to continue their college playing careers elsewhere as graduate transfers. That list grew by two more on Wednesday with yet another player still considering his options.
