On Thursday, the University of Michigan Regents approved new construction projects as part of the Wolverines’ complete overhaul of the athletic campus. Specifically, baseball and softball will go to synthetic turf, and the field hockey team will get a new stadium and facilities. Currently, the Wolverines are undergoing construction to Schembechler Hall and adding a marquee to the Michigan Stadium and Crisler Center. See pictures from both projects.

With the addition of Rutgers and Maryland to the Big Ten and subsequent conference realignment, the league was forced to change the schedules all 14 members for the 2014 season. On Thursday, the conference released the new set of schedules.

Quarterback Devin Gardner started only five games at the quarterback position for Michigan last season, taking over the position a week after Denard Robinson was injured against Nebraska. Given the quick transition that he had to make from playing wide receiver, he exceeded the expectations that many had for him.

The Wolverines have been hit with a string of departures in the last week, first bidding farewell to freshman linebacker Kaleb Ringer last week, and now parting ways with two veteran players. On Monday, it was revealed that safety Marvin Robinson and linebacker Mike Jones would not return for their senior seasons.
