The Big Ten’s two-day reveal of its all-conference team concluded on Wednesday evening with the announcement of offensive honorees. The Wolverines were once again well-represented, headed up by Jake Butt and Erik Magnuson, who each earned first team recognition from the coaches and media.

Michigan drops to fifth in playoff ranking, stays in hunt

Coming off the loss to Ohio State, Michigan fell two spots in the College Football Playoff Committee ranking, sitting highest among two-loss teams at No. 5. The Wolverines were immediately followed by three teams that they defeated in Wisconsin, Penn State and Colorado.

The Big Ten announced its all-conference defensive and special teams lists on Tuesday, including its shorter list of individual honors. The Wolverines were well represented in both, headlined by Jabrill Peppers claiming three spots among the individual awards.

Harbaugh reprimanded, fined for post-game comments

Jim Harbaugh did not hold back in expressing his feelings about the officiating in the Wolverines’ matchup with Ohio State, commenting at length about the matter in his post-game press conference. Late Monday afternoon, the Big Ten responded, issuing a public reprimand of the Michigan head coach and fining him $10,000.

Michigan slips two spots in AP and coaches polls

The Wolverines picked up their second loss of the season on Saturday, falling in double overtime to rival Ohio State. Given the close nature of the game, the polls were relatively forgiving, with each the Associated Press and coaches dropping Michigan just two spots.
