Wolverines surge past Kennesaw State

Struggling out of the gate to defend Kennesaw State’s Kendrick Ray, the Wolverines surrendered 15 points to the senior guard in less than 15 minutes of play. The tight battle that came as a result quickly turned down the stretch, with Michigan putting on a 17-2 run heading into the half. That run and the more consistent defensive effort in the second half ultimately leading to an 82-55 victory.

Wolverines stumble down the stretch, fall to Va. Tech

Michigan led by as many as 15 points against Virginia Tech on Wednesday evening, quickly surging ahead for a big lead out of the gate. The Hokies battled back in the second half, cutting the gap to just one, only to see the Maize and Blue again extend their advantage to double digits. That lead still wasn’t safe though as the visiting ACC team battled back to defeat Michigan 73-70.

Wolverines bounce back as shooting warms up at home

The Michigan basketball team went through a series of highs and lows in just a week’s time, putting forward dominant performances against Marquette and SMU in the 2K Classic in New York, but following it with an abysmal performance at South Carolina the day before Thanksgiving. On Saturday evening, they were able to bounce back from that rough showing, defeating Mount. St. Mary’s 64-47.

Michigan shooting goes cold in loss at S.C.

Coming off an impressive pair of games in New York last week against Marquette and SMU, the Wolverines rose into the top-25 in the polls. Their trip to South Carolina on Wednesday though was a sober reminder that there is still work to be done, falling 61-46 in the contest.

Michigan storms past SMU for win

Michigan’s trip to New York for the 2K Classic championship round was supposed to provide a tougher challenge than the Wolverines faced in their first two games, but that’s not the way things played out. The day after solidly thumping Marquette, the Maize and Blue put forward another very strong effort, this time dropping SMU 76-54.
