U-M adds potential grad transfer, schedules in-state

There is a great deal of looming uncertainty surrounding Michigan basketball for next season, given that both Moritz Wagner and D.J. Wilson declared for the NBA Draft without signing agents as a means of testing the waters, leaving open the option to return. The Wolverines added to that picture further this week, welcoming a graduate transfer from Ohio point guard Jaaron Simmons, who finds himself in the same situation.

Texas twins commit to Michigan

The Wolverines’ 2018 recruiting class grew by two members on Thursday, with DeSoto (Texas) twin bothers German and Gemon Green simultaneously announcing their commitments. Both are slated to play in the secondary, with German regarded as a safety and Gemon a cornerback.

The Wolverines played their annual Spring Game on Saturday afternoon in Michigan Stadium, with the Maize team coming out on top 31-29 off a last second field goal by Kyle Seychel. Following the scrimmage, Wilton Speight, Brandon Peters, Rashan Gary, Chris Evans, Maurice Hurst Jr. and Mike McCray were among the players to reflect on their experience and the progress throughout spring.

The Wolverines aren't quite finished with spring practice, still holding one more session in Ann Arbor and three in Italy, but fans got a chance to see what the Maize and Blue had to offer for 2017 on Saturday with the annual Spring Game held in Michigan Stadium. Following the action, offensive coordinator Tim Drevno and defensive coordinator Don Brown discussed what they saw in the scrimmage and the progress the team has made throughout the spring.
